Saturday, Day 6 on site - Dedication Day

Another beautiful day today to finish up some of the tasks before this afternoon's dedication and barbeque. The back porch was a priority and Bill, Tonya, Terry and Mike all helped get that in order including the getting the steps attached. The fence got it final coat of green paint with Laurie, Paula, Mary, Char, Tony and Mike all picking up a paint brush and making short work of it. Char helped the family get ready indoors with the remaining curtains and cleaning out the house so that it was ready for people to come and take a look. Jim, Mike and Gino removed all the boxing from the cement work. Jim, Laurie and Paula finished off the front steps and helped get them installed. Everyone pitched in getting all the scrap out of the yard and generally picking up in preparation for the barbeque. We have a few minor things to finish off this coming week, but the house looks amazing. The guest of honor, Fredarh, arrived a little bit late but to much cheering and good wishes. After some short speeches, blessing of the house, handing over the of the keys, and a lovely thank you speech by Fredarh it was time for the massive quantities of barbeque that family, friends, and other donors had pitched in to provide. I think we all appreciated being able to take part in the dedication ceremony and being a part of such a wonderful experience.
